The Museums in Iceland

A museum that any visitor to Iceland should definitely check out is the Njala Centre in Hvolsvellir. The centre has an exhibition devoted to the Njala saga, a famous epic written during the 13th century that tells the story of several tragic blood feuds.

In Stokkseyri, the Ghost Centre attracts visitors with its exhibitions about characters from Icelandic folklore, such as elves and a ghost called Kampholtsmori. Another interesting museum is Pompeii of the North and it can be found in Vestmannaeyjar. There, travellers can see houses that were dug out from the ashes of a volcanic eruption that occurred in 1973, which destroyed a big part of the town.
