Reykjavik Travelling
Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland. The name means “bay of damp” or “smoky bay” because of the warm water that comes from its subsoil. The ancient Vikings who settled in the area used this warm water for their baths while the city’s modern residents use it for heating purposes.

The Bay of Damp
Reykjavik, as befits a national capital, is the centre of business, communication, trade and culture. It has many theatres, art galleries, concert halls, restaurants, shopping malls and hotels that visitors are sure to delight in. The climate is cold and variable with precipitations such as rain and snow. It is a good idea to prepare yourself for different kinds of weather when visiting the city.
